Scribe Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 1, 2026
Scribe is a fully offline meeting note-taking app. The app is designed so meeting recordings, transcripts, speaker labels, voice profiles, and summaries stay on your device.
This policy explains what the current version of Scribe does with your information. It is intended for the App Store privacy policy URL and should be kept in sync with the app’s App Store Connect privacy answers.
Data Scribe Processes On Device
Scribe can process and store the following information locally on your device:
- Meeting audio recordings.
- Imported audio files you choose to process.
- Transcripts created from those recordings or files.
- Speaker diarization labels and speaker-labeled transcript segments.
- Local voice profiles used to recognize speakers in future meetings.
- Meeting summaries generated from speaker-labeled transcript evidence.
- Meeting titles, dates, durations, and app settings.
This information is stored locally by the app. It is not uploaded to a Scribe server.
No Account Required
Scribe does not require you to create an account or sign in to use the app.
Because there is no Scribe account system, Scribe does not collect account names, email addresses, passwords, or profile information from you.
No Server-Side Processing
The current version of Scribe does not send meeting content to a server for transcription, speaker identification, summarization, storage, backup, analytics, advertising, or review.
Meeting processing runs on device. This includes transcription, speaker diarization, speaker identification, and summary generation.
Microphone and Files
Scribe asks for microphone access so you can record meetings.
Scribe may also ask you to choose files from your device when you import an existing audio file. The app processes only the files you select.
Scribe does not use microphone access to record in the background without your action, and it does not upload selected files.
Local Storage and Deletion
Scribe stores your meeting data locally on your device using the app’s local storage.
You can delete individual meetings in the app. Scribe also includes a “Forget Me” privacy action in Settings that deletes user-created local data, including meetings, transcripts, summaries, transcript segments, recordings, and saved voice profiles.
Deleting the app from your device also removes the app’s local data according to iOS app data behavior.
Analytics
The current version of Scribe does not include third-party analytics SDKs and does not send app usage events to Scribe or to an analytics provider.
If a future version adds analytics, this policy will be updated before that version is released. The app’s App Store privacy disclosures will also be updated to describe the data collected, how it is used, whether it is linked to you, and whether it is used for tracking. If required, Scribe will provide an in-app choice for analytics and a way to change that choice.
Third Parties
The current version of Scribe does not share your meeting content, recordings, transcripts, summaries, or voice profiles with third parties.
Apple may process information related to App Store downloads, purchases, crash reports, or App Store analytics under Apple’s own policies and user settings. Scribe does not receive your meeting content through those Apple services.
Children
Scribe is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated when Scribe’s features or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this policy will be updated when the policy changes.
For material privacy changes, Scribe will update the App Store privacy information and, where appropriate, provide notice in the app or release notes.
